A curious wolf pup follows Ash’s glittering frost trails a little too far and suddenly finds itself frightened and stranded on an icy pond. One by one, the Keepers of Moonbeam Meadow bring their own strengths to the rescue, working together to calm the pup and help it find its way back to its family.

Inside the Adventure

Each short chapter is followed by questions that encourage kids to think about what they’ve read, notice important details, figure out unfamiliar words, and explain their own ideas. After the rescue, the adventure steps into the real world with a nonfiction chapter about wolves and their packs, communication, habitats, and behavior.

Then it’s their turn to take over the story! Learners create their own wolf character and write a brand-new chapter about a day in its life, giving them a chance to use what they’ve learned while creating something entirely their own.
