The Empty Notebook

A young fox has a notebook full of empty pages and a head full of stories, but he’s afraid there’s a right way to write them. When River discovers what’s holding him back, he calls on the Keepers of Moonbeam Meadow for help. One by one, The Keepers share stories of their own, showing the little fox that every storyteller has a different way of bringing words to life.

Inside the Adventure

After each story, learners explore how writers choose stronger, more precise nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs to shape what readers see and feel. Then they bring everything together: experimenting with words, planning an original story, gathering language they want to use, and filling their own page. Along the way, the little fox discovers his name, and learners discover something just as important: there isn’t one right way to tell a story.
